What is a Downtown Development Authority and how does it help the Snellville business community?
The Project Corridor was generally located to the east and west of the intersection of US Highway 78 and State Route 124, but also included areas along Henry Clower Boulevard, in Snellville, Georgia. The Project Corridor includes the proposed widening of the US Highway 78 along the northern side of the road at the intersection of US Highway 78 and State Route 124 for the reworking of the intersection. This section of the corridor extends approximately 1,400 feet to the west and approximately 1,300 feet to the east of the intersection of US Highway 78 and State Route 124. Also included in the Project Corridor is work located along Henry Clower Boulevard including; the widening of the southwestern corner of the intersection of US Highway 78 and Henry Clower Boulevard extending along the southern portion of US Highway 78 to Knollwood Drive, areas along the southern side of Henry Clower Boulevard between US Highway 78 and Scenic Highway, and areas along the eastern side of Henry Clower from approximately Wesley Way to US Highway 78. This roadway is proposed for easing traffic flow at in the area of the intersection of US Highway 78 and State Route 124.
March 13, 2014 - The Snellville Downtown Development Authority (SDDA) has entered into formal public/partnership discussions with a team including Marthasville Development, Norsouth Development, Sizemore Group and Astra Group to develop a parcel of SDDA owned land that is located in the town center planning area at 2306 Wisteria Drive.
